Good Friday Morning,

Today I found an article at World Net Daily that was utterly fascinating and right on target with what we are seeing happen in the world. Some have criticized Tolkein and the Lord of the Ring movies and I think that perhaps because of how the movie glorifies the occult they have an argument. However ,Tolkein was led to the Lord by C.S. Lewis and I think some similarities can be drawn from the story to good triumphing over evil and the greed of man.

What we need to realize today is that we need hope and if we look in the Bible we find that our hope rest in the Lord. No matter what is happening in our lives God is in control and he is going to bring this present evil age and the evil one to an aburpt end. Praise the Lord! We may suffer in this present world but this world is not our home and I think our homegoing in the Rapture is near. Get ready for an exciting experience. Make sure you and your family know the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Savior and nothing man can do to you or me will matter. Then remember that nothing can happen to us as children of the living God that he does not allow (note I did not say cause). I pray this Christmas and the celebration of our Saviour's birth is special in light of all the prophetic scripture that is being fulfilled. Just as the Prophets told the world that He would be born in Bethlehem, Gods Word reminds us that He is Coming Again!

THE TIME OF THE ELVES IS OVER!

There comes a moment in J.R.R. Tolkien's epic Lord of the Rings when the Elvish leadership recognizes they can no longer restrain the growth of evil. The conversation moments before between Elrond and his daughter Arwen makes clear that the elves understand all too well the curse of immortality lived out in a fallen world:

Elrond: "Whether by the sword or the slow decay of time, Aragorn (Arwen's lover of the race of men) will die. And there will be no comfort for you. No comfort to ease the pain of his passing. He will come to death. An image of the splendor of the kings of men in glory, undimmed before the breaking of the world. But you, my daughter, you will linger on in darkness and in doubt. As night falling winter has come without a star. Here you will dwell, bound to your grief, under the fading trees, until all the world has changed and the long years of your life are utterly spent."

Evil is a subject that our postmodern world is ill-equipped to understand, let alone deal with. That is why evil is growing stronger. Worse, it seems the more "educated" we are, the less likely we will understand the nature and power of evil. Our most educated imagine that racism, sexism or a disproportionate number of blacks in major universities is unrestrained evil. In that sense, quite an education lies ahead of us.

Our modern world has seen outbreaks of evil. Stalin, Hitler, Mao – all were men who perpetrated great evil among their own people, and against humanity in general. Each did so to make the world a better place. (Please reread this last sentence until you comprehend what it means.) Yet such outbreaks of evil have always been restrained and eventually overcome, albeit at a tremendous cost in human suffering.

In popular culture, men and women are not alone, but are from time to time assisted against evil and personal catastrophe by spiritual beings who can and do assume human form. Both popular culture and the Bible refer to these being as angels. There are problems, to be sure. Angels are often represented as female, perhaps because our culture still associates the feminine with nurturing and comfort. Yet the Bible describes angels as "ministering spirits" (Heb 1:14) sent to help mankind, although it more often depicts them as masculine, and organized militarily. "But the angel of the kingdom of Persia put himself against me for 21 days; but Michael, one of the chief angels, came to my help" (Daniel 10:13).

So today I find myself wondering: Will God's angelic army always be around to restrain evil? Or will they, like Tolkien's Elves, someday depart? And if they do, what will happen to humanity? The book of Revelation describes a time when evil is unrestrained on the Earth:


The Beast had a loud mouth, boastful and blasphemous. It could do anything it wanted for 42 months. It yelled blasphemies against God, blasphemed his Name, blasphemed his Church, especially those already dwelling with God in Heaven. It was permitted to make war on God's holy people and conquer them. It held absolute sway over all tribes and peoples, tongues and races. Everyone on earth whose name was not written from the world's foundation in the slaughtered Lamb's Book of Life will worship the Beast.

The age of the elves and the angels is perilously close to an end. You may know it as the "age of grace" or the Church age. When that time comes, God's restraint of and patience with evil will finally have become exhausted. When confronted with God's demands for righteous leadership, a world that can agree on nothing else will suddenly agree on one thing: Jesus is not going to assume any throne on this earth.


I saw the Beast and, assembled with him, earth's kings and their armies, ready to make war against the One on the horse and his army. The Beast was taken, and with him, his puppet, the False Prophet, who used signs to dazzle and deceive those who had taken the mark of the Beast and worshiped his image. They were thrown alive, those two, into Lake of Fire and Brimstone. The rest were killed by the sword of the One on the horse, the sword that comes from his mouth. All the birds held a feast on their flesh.

God intends to restore humanity to its pre-fallen condition. To do so requires the permanent destruction of evil and its adherents, lest eternity become corrupted and turn into hell for all. The age of the elves is nearly over.

Hello everyone. Today I have little to comment on because I think that Hal Lindsey says it all in his column from World Net Daily. Let us be bold in our faith and in this spiritual battle for America. May God give us the strength and wisdom to recognize and know when we are in a battle with Satan blinded souls and stand for truth no matter the cost.

Though it has been said many times – much more eloquently than I can say it – America's first foundational premise is that there is a Creator-God, and it is this Creator-God who alone gives mankind his rights, not human government. Governments that grant them (Such as the United Nations) can also take them away. But God-given rights take precedence over any government. This is the entire basis of our Declaration of Independence and Constitution.

In the light of our history and founding principles, how dare such cursed organizations as the ACLU pretend to represent the meaning of the U.S. Constitution or interpret its intent.

Religion, particularly Christianity, is not only embedded in our founding documents, but also established by consistent historical profession by our government institutions.

Even the current decisions of our Supreme Court on the myth of separation of Church and State are clearly out of step with the established historical views of the Supreme Court. Most of the current Supreme Court justices are not interpreting law, but seeking to rewrite our most sacred and important foundational premise of law – that they issue from our Creator-God, to whom virtually all of our great leaders of the past appealed publicly.

Why is it that George Washington instituted a day of Thanksgiving to God?

Why is it that the U.S. Congress in 1895 passed the law to have "In God We Trust" placed on all our currency"?

Why is it that it is written over the entrance of the Supreme Court building, "In God We Trust"?

Why has it been from the beginning that presidents and other national and state leaders are sworn in with their hand on the Christian Bible"? Why do they close the oath with, "So help me God"?

The latest obscenity that has been attempted by a small minority of anti-God citizens – with the help of the ACLU's continued crusade to stamp out all public expression of faith in God – is a situation in North Carolina and Georgia. Grieving families of loved ones killed in automobile crashes place crosses along the highways at the place where they were killed.

The anti-God group is protesting that placing a cross on government owned right of way constitutes a violation of the "separation of Church and State."

What is next for these people? Will they go to government cemeteries for our military, such as Arlington National Cemetery, and demand that all crosses be removed from the graves of our fallen heroes?

What is it going to take for the vast majority of God-fearing Americans to wake up and say, "Enough is enough"? We need to make it known loudly and clearly, religion is our foundational heritage. If you want to live here, welcome. But if you want to remove the very thing without which our great country will self-destruct, Get out!

As the second U.S. president, John Adams, clearly warned: "... Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

The fact that there has been a calamitous decline of both of the above in our nation is the reason we are having so much trouble trying to govern these days. It is the reason our courts are overloaded and jails overcrowded.

Wake up Americans. God is giving us His last warnings. Return to the founding principles of our forefathers before there is nothing to salvage.

Good Morning all. Well it is cold and raining in Georgia. It is beginning to look like we are really going to have a cold Christmas this year and it is welcome. It would thrill me to see a little snow!

The one thing I prayed about when starting this blog site was the fact that I wanted to get information out to the people about the truth of what is happening in our beloved America. It is almost like a fire burning in my soul that all of us must help to awaken our friends and families to the truth. We have so long lived in a make believe world where we thought our government was looking out for us and they would never do us harm if we were honest and upstanding citizens. However, what we did not know is that Government does not like the citizens (sheeples) asking questions. When that began to happen, our government of, for and by the people began to persecute those who dared ask questions. Throughout the days to come I will share with you about the lives our government has sought to destroy. I am reminded how our forefathers were called traitors by the English.
Continue to look out for buzz words like, radical right wing extremest. That term is meant for us who dare to believe that Gods word is inspired and meant for today just as it was when it was written. We also believe that Jesus is coming back to rapture his church and judge the world. Well so be it. That is what I am and I guess that many of you are too.

HOW THE IRS LIES TO EMPLOYERS ABOUT WITHHOLDING

In my recent article on How The IRS Violates It's Own Code, the facts were carefully presented which definitively proved how the IRS deliberately lies and misleads Americans by unlawfully seizing (stealing) assets by circumventing the law.

This article will prove how the American worker and employer alike have been hoodwinked regarding the withholding process. The purpose behind this chicanery is not to benefit America, but to further enrich the coffers of the private banking cartel aka the Federal Reserve.

There is no need for an income tax, flat tax, sales tax or any other direct tax. All Americans are encouraged to look behind the curtain so that they might fully understand the grand plunder sucking the lifeblood out of our economy. See: http://www.devvy.com. Employers must withhold

So says the Great Deceivers, the Internal Revenue Service. Employers are routinely told that they must, under certain provisions of the tax code, withhold taxes of all sorts from an employee's paycheck. Funny thing though, when sincere Americans request that the IRS send its representatives to public seminars on this issue, the IRS is no where to be found.

Robert Schulz, Chairman of the Board of We the People Foundation for Constitutional Education, Inc., made a swing through 37 cities in April and May of 2003. Before he arrived at each destination, he sent, via certified mail, an invitation to both the IRS and U.S. Attorney's offices to come to his public seminars and correct him if he was giving out the wrong legal facts regarding withholding. What could be more reasonable?

In not one of those 37 cities did either DOJ or IRS send any representative, begging the question, "Why not?" Schulz is a man of honesty and integrity. His invitations to DOJ and IRS were sincere; his only desire was to be absolutely certain that the information he communicated to attendees was legally factual. Instead, he was met with the same usual arrogance in the form of silence. Why do you suppose that is?

Lynda Wall is an expert in the field of withholding and has been assisting employers and employees alike for many years in understanding the law regarding this issue. We the People Foundation for Constitutional Education, Inc. will be holding our national convention in Washington, DC this coming January and Ms. Wall will give a two hour, comprehensive seminar that will firmly establish in anyone’s mind once and for all how the IRS lies to employers about this process and the lawful remedy.

According to Ms. Wall:

"The IRS will tell employers and employees that according to IRC section 3402(a)(1) of their code: ".......every employer making payment of wages shall deduct and withhold upon such wages a tax determined in accordance with tables or computational procedures prescribed by the Secretary."

"However, this is what the law really says: no (federal, state, city or county) municipal corporation shall levy or collect or cause to be levied or collected any tax upon the income, or any part thereof, of any person, resident or nonresident (also known as the "Full Paycheck Law"). Employers are prohibited from taking amounts from pay for federal or state taxes, fees or other charges absent the lawful, knowing, written consent of the employee.

"The Code of Federal Regulations clearly advises the employers at 26 CFR §31.3402(p)-1(a) "An employee who desires to enter into an agreement for withholding...shall furnish his employer with Form W-4 (or its equivalent) for withholding. The furnishing of such Form W-4 shall constitute a request for withholding." Then, 31 CFR §215.2(n)(1) (n) clearly tells the employers they cannot take amounts from the workers' pay for any form of State tax UNLESS the employee VOLUNTARILY elects to have such sums withheld.

"Consensual taking from pay occurs ONLY when an employee voluntarily elects in writing to volunteer to participate in any (federal, state, city or county) municipal corporate tax, program, insurance (disability, Medicare), trust (social security), including non-judicial tax levy, garnishment for taxes, tax offsets, tax interest or penalty and the employer consents such a request."

The fruits of your labor belong to you

Pursuant to 26 CFR §31.3402(p)-1(b)(2), either the employer or the employee may terminate the withholding agreement (W-4 or its equivalent) by furnishing a signed written notice to the other. An employer cannot lawfully take amounts from the worker's pay without the risk of being sued after the worker submits his/her written notice to terminate the withholding agreement (W-4 or its equivalent).

According to Ms. Wall, when the employer's tax professionals (CPA or attorney) are the ones negligently advising the company to convert and transmit the worker's property (pay), those incompetent tax professionals are at risk of being sued for negligence, malpractice and misfeasance. Sheds a whole new light on things, doesn't it?

State laws protect workers from non-consensual taking from pay without the worker's explicit, knowing, voluntary, written consent. Only the worker or contractor/payee can make the determination whether or not he/she wants to volunteer to participate in government taxes, fees or other charges (i.e., social security trust contributions [FICA], social programs [Medicare], benefits [disability]) as well as non-judicial liens/levies, penalties and interest.

By all means, every employee and employer should go to the law library and verify the information above. It is accurate, it is factual and it is the law on the books. Don't take the word of the IRS for anything. Check the facts for yourself. Then sit down and have a heart to heart chat with your tax professional and find out why he/she doesn't know the law. After all, they're supposed to be the experts looking out for you, the client.

Unlawfully penalizing employers

The IRS threatens employers with huge fines if they don't withhold payroll taxes. Funny thing though, according to a September 15, 2003 letter from GAO (General Accounting Office) to Congressman Elton Gallegly regarding W-4’s and reporting, this little nugget of truth stands out:

"Under current law, IRS does not have statutory authority to impose a penalty to enforce employer compliance with the reporting requirement. The reporting requirement was promulgated in Treasury regulations."

How many employers has the IRS defrauded for untold millions of dollars in fines when in fact, they had no legal authority to impose or enforce such penalties and fines?

Tax cheats

The IRS likes to use a lot of rhetoric about "tax cheats" who won't "pay their fair share." When one lifts the curtain and exposes the lies and fraud being conducted every day by the IRS, one would venture to say that the real "tax cheats" are those who work for the IRS.

Employers are being fleeced to the tune of approximately 30% of their operating budget in "payroll deductions." The worker over a ten year period with $200 of taxes withheld each pay period, would get clipped for $104,000! For what? Certainly not to fund our military, social security or any other legitimate, authorized expenditure by Congress. Those expenditures are funded through borrowing by Congress. Debt is not prosperity.

The American workers and employers have been cheated long enough. If someone owns the fruits of your labor, stolen from you by deceptive and deceitful methods, then you are a slave. The withholding issue was sold under the guise of patriotism because the American people did not want this new taxing scheme back in 1942. Sixty-one years later, the American people still don't want this fleecing of the fruits of their labor which does not benefit them in any way. This process only encourages addictive over spending by Congress and more borrowing from the central bank. Again, debt is not prosperity.

We the people have two choices: You can either stay on your knees to this tyranny or you can get the facts and then enforce your rights using the law.

What future will you pass on to your children and grand babies? Freedom or indentured servitude?

Hello everyone.

Well I have a 20lb Turkey sitting in the refrig and am waiting to get started baking all the holiday goodies. I pray you all are planning an exciting family get together for Thursday. We do have so much to be thankful for. However, we have a lot to think and pray about. I for one personally think we are at the end of the freedoms in America that we have been so blessed with. There are so many factors that have contributed to the downfall of America but sin and loss of vision is the main culprit.

THIS IS WHAT YOUR 'FEAR' IS PROTECTING

Millions of Americans have read the Joseph Banister story. For those who may not know of this courageous individual, a short refresher is in order. Joseph was an IRS CID agent (Criminal Investigation Division) for a little over five years. In late 1996, he happened to hear some information about the nature of the income tax on a radio show. After two years of trying to prove the so-called "tax protesters" wrong regarding their beliefs, he finally concluded that the "tax honesty" individuals were indeed correct in their analysis of the income tax and its voluntary nature.

Joseph had no choice but to resign his job, which at that time paid $80,000 per year. You see, this remarkable young man could no longer perform his duties as a CID agent after he discovered the truth. He could not look in the mirror every morning knowing that it was the IRS, his employer, who was breaking the law and committing fraud against the American people. How many people do you know would give up their $80,000 a year job for something called integrity?

With no paycheck coming in, times got tough for this young man; a husband and father of two young boys who attended private Catholic school. However, as a college graduate with a CPA license, Joseph began the process of building a clientele, appearing at numerous events throughout the country and in his soft spoken manner, he told his story and why he could no longer participate in this fraud against his fellow Americans.

As time has gone by, the IRS attempted to silence this courageous young man by making sure he knew a grand jury was sniffing around him. Then the IRS began contacting Joseph's clients and scaring them off so that his income began to once again dwindle. When that didn't work, suddenly the State of California took an interest in him. Stepping up this Nazi style persecution, the State of California is now attempting to take away his CPA license. Not because he has violated any law, but to shut up this courageous young man and deny him the right to work in his profession - all because he told a truth which threatens the powerful, global, banking cartel.

Joseph's "trial" is now set for December 1, 2003. His "public" trial has shockingly has been moved to Coast Guard Island in Alameda, California and no civilians will be allowed on this military reservation. A civil matter regarding a CPA license will be heard in a star chamber, closed off from any public scrutiny. The tyranny doesn't stop there. According to Joseph:

"My requests for discovery (in other words, requests to obtain IRS documents that might enable me to understand the allegations made against me) have been DENIED. My request to present evidence and witnesses that would prove the baselessness of the allegations against me have been DENIED. As if being prevented from properly defending myself was not enough, the IRS shockingly admitted in their own pleadings that they used their criminal investigation component by privately conferencing with both IRS Criminal Investigation Special Agents and Department of Justice Prosecutors to coordinate parallel civil and criminal proceedings against me without notice. The IRS admitted they conducted surveillance on my speaking engagements and eavesdropped on my political conversations and appearances. Recently, the IRS tapped its computer database of information from other taxpayers, prying into private financial intimacies and private accounts with banks and businesses, to use this information in this case. Is there anyone who still does not understand why I confronted this agency with their wrongdoing and resigned?"

America: This is what your fear of your own government is protecting. And, let us not forget how much money it costs to retain a qualified criminal defense attorney. Joseph is not alone

Let us now to to Oregon in the case of Lanis Metteer vs the IRS, US District Court for District of Oregon. In this case Judge Garr King refused to allow four expert witnesses give testimony for Mr. Metteer before the jury. Who were these expert witnesses? Some cammie clad "tax protesters"? No, they were all former IRS employees; three of them resigned after they found out the true nature of the voluntary income tax. They are: John Turner, former IRS Revenue Officer, Sherry Jackson, former IRS forensic accountant and Joseph Banister, former IRS CID agent. Paul Chappell who is an attorney, before his retirement worked in the Office of the Chief Council (IRS) in Washington, DC, writing legal opinions for 17 years.

All of these experts were at the court house awaiting their opportunity to testify in Mr. Metteer's case. All of these expert witnesses were allowed to present their credentials to the judge and then Judge King refused to allow their testimony before the jury, with the exception of Paul Chappell, who was only allowed a very limited window to discuss trusts. America: this heinous flavor of tyranny is what you are protecting with your fear of your own government.

Dr. Steve Roebuck is a dentist in Raleigh, North Carolina. Agents wearing bulletproof vests and side arms raided his office and threw Dr. Roebuck in the county jail without bail for willful failure to file an income tax return and because he very correctly interpreted the withholding laws and stopped withholding taxes from his employees paychecks. Judge Terrance Boyle stated that this Christian man who never hurt a flea was "unfit the walk the streets of their town." Did Dr. Roebuck, an educated man, just decide to stop voluntarily filing and paying taxes without first researching the law? Hardly. He spent eight years studying and researching the law.

On September 4, 2001, Dr. Roebuck appeared in court and entered a plea of not guilty. The now too common kangaroo court ruled and Dr. Roebuck went to jail for breaking not a single law. But the message the IRS sent was very clear: question our laws and we will destroy you. America: this is what you are protecting with your fear. In my piece IRS Makes Chilling Proclamation I quoted a recent statement by Terry Lemons, an IRS spokes mouth who said that the government is answering legitimate legal questions raised by law-abiding Americans via the petition process with "enforcement actions." America: your fear feeds this tyranny.

Sybil Ludington was a typical 16 year old girl in 1777. She was the eldest of 12 children and was often responsible for taking care of her younger siblings. She was putting the younger children to bed on the night of April 26, 1777, when word reached her house that the British were burning the town of Danbury, Connecticut, which was only 25 miles away. Her father was a colonel in the local militia. His men were scattered over a wide area around the Ludington house in Fredericksburg, New York (now Ludington).

Sybil convinced her father to let her ride and summon the men. She rode on horseback over 40 miles on dark, unmarked roads to spread the alert. Her course took her down through Carmel, on to Mahopac, and around to Kent Cliffs and Farmers Mills and back home. She rode alone with only a stick to prod her horse Star and to knock on the doors spreading the alert in time. The men whom she helped to gather arrived just in time to help drive the British, under the command of General William Tyron (who was also colonial governor of New York), back to their ships in Long Island Sound. Don't confuse fear with cowardice

A sixteen year old girl didn't allow her fear to turn her into a coward. In the movie, Braveheart, William Wallace tells the "nobles" that if they don't stand with him, then they are cowards and he's ashamed to call them his countrymen. I am proud to call individuals like Joe Banister my fellow countryman and I say it with pride. As the Executive Director for We the People Congress, Inc., I work with extraordinary people every day who don't confuse fear with cowardice. Americans should fear these gangsters who run the IRS, but we have no other choice except to stand and fight for freedom and for our children's tomorrows as a free people. We refuse to allow fear of our government to rule our lives. We will not be cowards in the face of tyranny.

However, we cannot be free as long as the yoke of tyranny rests upon our shoulders in the form of this immoral, progressive income tax. We cannot be a free people while congressionally sanctioned thugs called the IRS continue to terrorize and jail our fellow countrymen and women for nothing more than blowing the whistle on the fraud being perpetrated upon our people. Yes, the IRS has the power to destroy, but we the people have more power. I respectfully encourage you to join we the people in our upcoming lawsuit to settle a very important question on our First Amendment right to petition and why this is so important to your life and the future of this Republic.

All those who have gone before us felt fear, but they did not let that stop their quest to birth this Constitutional Republic for future generations. Let us not abandon or ignore those who are standing firm and tall against tyranny because we feel fear. Stay the course, America.

Good Saturday Evening,

Well sometimes the news comes so fast and furious that it is hard to decide what to post about. Today I had no trouble at all deciding what to share with all my friends, family and visitors here at e-libertybell. Yesterday I spoke to you about Simeon who saw the Lord at His birth. Today I am sharing with you the beginnings of the first prototype of the Mark of The Beast. I remember how bad I felt when they finger printed me for a drivers license and when I had a full fingerprinting for my job with the Board of Education. Never will I allow these creeps to insert anything under my skin!!!!

I realize that we believers will have been raptured to the New Jerusalem when the above scripture is fulfilled. However, we are seeing the antichrist's system set up more and more every day and this is a big indicator!


My advice is to one, get rid of all debt. Stop using credit cards as soon as you can get them paid off. Teach this to your children and grandchildren. The only way to be free of the banksters is to be debt free! Next, we need to be alert and sober to the signs of the time and never be afraid to let others know of what is going to happen to this old world. Then, make sure that all our friends and loved ones are ready for the rapture. Finally draw close to the Lord and be a faithful witness for Him until He comes.

I believe with all my heart that our Lord is coming for His church soon and what a day that will be. I wonder what it is going to be like to walk down streets of gold and visit with the Lord, our Heavenly Father and the likes of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Paul. Oh well, thats enough wool gathering. But it sure sounds good to me:)

Announcement at global security confab unveils syringe-injectable ID microchip

At a global security conference held today in Paris, an American company announced a new syringe-injectable microchip implant for humans, designed to be used as a fraud-proof payment method for cash and credit-card transactions.

The chip implant is being presented as an advance over credit cards and smart cards, which, absent biometrics and appropriate safeguard technologies, are subject to theft, resulting in identity fraud.

Identity fraud costs the banking and financial industry some $48 billion a year, and consumers $5 billion, according to 2002 Federal Trade Commission estimates.

In his speech today at the ID World 2003 conference in Paris, France, Scott R. Silverman, CEO of Applied Digital Solutions, called the chip a "loss-proof solution" and said that the chip's "unique under-the-skin format" could be used for a variety of identification applications in the security and financial worlds.

The company will have to compete, though, with organizations using just a fingerprint scan for similar applications.

The ID World Conference, held yesterday and today at the Charles de Gaulle Hilton, focused on current and future applications of radio frequency identification (RFID) technologies, biometrics, smart cards and data collection.

The company's various "VeriChips" are RFID chips, which contain a unique identification number and can carry other personal data about the implantee. When radio-frequency energy passes from a scanner, it energizes the chip, which is passive (not independently powered), and which then emits a radio-frequency signal transmitting the chip's information to the reader, which in turn links with a database.

ADS has previously touted its radio frequency identification (RFID) chips for secure building access, computer access, storage of medical records, anti-kidnapping initiatives and a variety of law-enforcement applications. The company has also developed proprietary hand-held readers and portal readers that can scan data when an implantee enters a building or room.

The "cashless society" application is not new – it has been discussed previously by Applied Digital. Today's speech, however, represented the first formal public announcement by the company of such a program.

In announcing VeriPay to ID World delegates, Silverman stated the implant has "enormous marketplace potential" and invited banking and credit companies to partner with VeriChip Corporation (a subsidiary of ADS) in developing specific commercial applications beginning with pilot programs and market tests.

Applied Digital's announcement in Paris suggested wireless technologies, RFID development, new software solutions, smart-card applications and subdermal implants might one day merge as the ultimate solution for a world fraught with identity theft, threatened by terrorism, buffeted by cash-strapped governments and law-enforcement agencies looking for easy data-collection, and corporations interested in the marketing bonanza that cutting-edge identification, payment, and location-based technologies can afford.

Cashless payment systems are now part of a larger technology development subset: government identification experiments that seek to combine cashless payment applications with national ID information on media (such as a "smart" card), which contain a whole host of government, personal, employment and commercial data and applications on a single, contactless RFID chip.

In some scenarios, government-corporate coalitions are advocating such a chip be used by employees also to access entry to their workplace and the company computer network, reducing the cost outlay of the corporations for individual ID cards.

Malaysia's "MyKad" national ID "smart" card is the foremost example.

Meanwhile, privacy advocates have expressed concern over RFID technology rollouts, citing database concerns and the specter of individuals' RFID chips being read without permission by people who have their own hand-held readers.

Several privacy and civil liberties groups have recently called for a voluntary moratorium on RFID tagging "until a formal technology assessment process involving all stakeholders, including consumers, can take place." Signatories to the petition include the American Civil Liberties Union, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, the Electronic Privacy Information Center, Privacy International and the Foundation for Information Policy Research, a British think tank.

Commenting on today's announcement, Richard Smith, a computer industry consultant, referred to what some "netizens" are already calling "chipectomies": "VeriChips can still be stolen. It's just a bit gruesome when to think how the crooks will do these kinds of robberies."

Citing MasterCard's PayPass, Smith pointed out that most of the major credit-card companies are looking at RFID chips to make credit cards quicker, easier, and safer to use.

"The big problem is money," said Smith. "It will take billions of dollars to upgrade the credit-card networks from magstripe readers to RFID readers. During the transition, a credit card is going to need both a magstripe and an RFID chip so that it is universally accepted."

Some industry professionals advocate having citizens pay for combined national ID/cashless pay chips, which would be embedded in a chosen medium.

Identification technologies using RFID can take a wide variety of physical forms and show no sign yet of coalescing into a single worldwide standard.

Prior to today's announcement, Art Kranzley, senior vice president at MasterCard, commented on the Pay Pass system in a USA Today interview: "We're certainly looking at designs like key fobs. It could be in a pen or a pair of earrings. Ultimately, it could be embedded in anything – someday, maybe even under the skin."

In this world with all the negative, I am amazed at how the Lord moves in to reassure his people that He is still in control. This new finding in the Holy Land particularly thrills my heart because I have always loved the story of Simeon in the Gospel of Luke.

I pray that each one of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and I hope that this article gives you a peace and true spirit of Thanksgiving not only for our blessings but in the fact that God still is involved in the affairs of men.

All that we see happening was told to us in the scriptures and just as Simeon saw the Lord at His birth, I believe with all my heart that many of us will experience the rapture! Gods word is true and powerful and sure. No matter what you are going through today, keep faith in Him and keep an eye on the Eastern sky!

Gospel Verse Found On Ancient Shrine

ARCHAEOLOGICAL FINDS confirming biblical narrative or referring to figures from the Bible are rare, and this is believed to be the first discovery of a New Testament verse carved onto an ancient Holy Land shrine, said inscriptions expert Emile Puech, who deciphered the writing.

A few Old Testament phrases have been found on monuments, and a passage from Paul’s Letter to the Romans (13:3) is laid into a floor mosaic into the ancient Roman city of Caesarea.

Jim Strange, a New Testament scholar from the University of South Florida, said the ancients apparently believed chiseling Scripture into monuments debased sacred words. The widespread use of Bible verses on shrines began only around A.D. 1,000, in Europe, said Strange, who was unconnected with the discovery.

The inscription declares that the 60-foot-high monument is the tomb of Simon, a devout Jew who the Bible says cradled the infant Jesus and recognized him as the Messiah.

It’s actually unlikely Simon is buried there; the monument is one of several built for Jerusalem’s aristocracy at the time of Jesus.

However, the inscription does back up what until now were scant references to a Byzantine-era belief that three biblical figures — Simon, Zachariah and James, the brother of Jesus — shared the same tomb.

APPLYING THE ‘SQUEEZE’

Earlier this year, an inscription referring to Zachariah, who was John the Baptist’s father, was found on the same facade. Puech and Joe Zias, a physical anthropologist, continued to study the monument. Applying a “squeeze” — a simple 19th-century technique of spreading a kind of papier mache over a surface — they uncovered the Simon inscription. Now, they hope to complete the trio by finding writing referring to James.

The Simon and Zachariah inscriptions were carved around the 4th century, at a time when Byzantine Christians were searching the Holy Land for sacred sites linked to the Bible and marked them, often relying on local lore, said Puech.

The monument is in the Kidron Valley, to the east of Jerusalem’s walled Old City and west of the Mount of Olives. The Bible says James was hurled off the Jewish Temple, bludgeoned to death in the Kidron Valley below and buried nearby. The historian Josephus refers to a Temple priest named Zachariah being slain by zealots in the Temple and thrown into the valley. There is no word on Simon’s death.

There have been historical references to a Byzantine belief of joint burial of the three, although there is no evidence they were actually buried together.

The six lines in the Simon inscription run vertically. The letters run together, are of different height, a little crooked and relatively shallow.

They were clearly carved by laymen, said Shimon Gibson, of the Albright Institute of Archaeological Research in Jerusalem, who was present when Puech and Zias applied the squeeze during the summer but who was not connected with their research.

Referring to the carvers, Strange said: “These were folks who knew their Greek and their Luke, but didn’t know how to be masons.”

READING BETWEEN THE LINES

The inscription says the monument is the tomb of “Simeon who was a very just man and a very devoted old (person) and waiting for the consolation of the people.” Simeon is a Greek version of Simon.

The passage is identical to the Gospel verse Luke 2:25, as it appears in a 4th-century version of the Bible, the Codex Sinaiticus, which was later revised extensively.

“This (the inscription) shows there were different versions of the Old and New Testament going around,” said Zias, who presented his find Thursday at the annual conference of the American Schools of Oriental Research in Atlanta.

The Zachariah and Simon inscriptions were chiseled into what is known today as Absalom’s Tomb, one of three large funerary monuments built in the Kidron Valley for the city’s rich.

It is unlikely Absalom, a son of King David, is buried there; the monument was built several hundred years after his death.

The name was assigned to the tomb in Medieval times, along with a custom of stoning the facade as a show of disdain for Absalom, who murdered his half brother for raping their sister and later incited a rebellion against his father.

Jews, Christians and Muslims participated in the ritual, badly scarring the facade and all but erasing the inscriptions.

Zias, a member of the Science and Archaeology Group, a team of scholars affiliated with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, found the Zachariah inscription by chance — in a photograph of the facade taken just before sundown.

Had the photograph been taken at any other time of day, he might not have seen the worn inscription. Using a squeeze, Puech deciphered the words: “This is the tomb of Zachariah, martyr, very pious priest, father of John.”

Strange said he had little doubt the inscriptions were genuine. If fake, “then it was forged by someone who failed because nobody noticed (the inscriptions),” he said.
